Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment

Planning Policy Statement 3 (Housing) requires local authorities to produce a Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment in order to identify sites and locations with potential for housing, assess their availability and the level of housing that could be provided. The findings of the Assessment should be used to inform the development of Local Development Plan Documents.

Local authorities in the West of England are in the process of or have completed individual housing land availability assessments.  The West of England Hosuing Market Partnership have acknowledged that completed SHLAAs are consistent with the published CLG guidance methodology.  Minutes of the Housing Market Partnership are avilable here .
