Joint FE Skills Agreement

Local Further Education Colleges and the West of England Skills & Competitiveness Board signed a Skills and Training Agreement in 2010. The agreement means targetted investment in skill levels and employment, particularly in sectors and locations critical to the growth of the local economy.

Signing the Joint Skills and Training Agreement: Dr Paul Phillips (Principle, Weston College), Stephen Harrison (Chair, Skills & Competitiveness Board) and Keith Elliott (Principal, City of Bristol College).

The West of England Office is working with the Further Education colleges to join our market knowledge with theirs, and undertake joint planning. The Agreement gives the employer community influence over Further Education provision and gives the providers a means of validating what they are delivering against genuine labour market demand.
